Summer Research Assistant

Location: East Lansing, MI

The cherry breeding & genetics program is seeking a summer research assistant

 

JOB DESCRIPTION: assist with spring pollinations; field plot and greenhouse establishment/management; fruit harvest; data collection and entry; occasional weekend watering of greenhouses

 

WHEN: New hires will begin shortly after final exams are finished and work until mid-August. This position is a full time position (40 hours/week) and the work day is 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Do not apply if you are taking summer classes during this time period. Occasionally we will require you to work longer days and on the weekends 

 

REQUIREMENTS: Ability to use the software MS Excel; excellent communication skills; ability to work independently and hard working. Applicants must have a valid driver license.


PAY RATE: starting at $9/hr or higher, commensurate with experience
