This position is located in the Southern Region’s Regional Office in Atlanta, Georgia.  The incumbent oversees urban and community forestry programs for the 13 southern states and provides leadership, management and direction for those programs.  The incumbent is responsible for providing coordination between Forest Service programs and policies and state forestry agencies and other partners to address complex natural resource issues across the landscape that involve multiple jurisdictions.
