Nature and Nurture, LLC Landscape Crew Team Member Job Description

Organic Landscape Gardening and Farm business based near Ann Arbor is looking for full-time and part-time help, April-November, 3-5 days/week. There is a potential for winter work depending on work availability and qualifications.

Role:

Work on landscaping crew as a team to efficiently and effectively carry out various gardening maintenance and installation jobs. Tasks: weeding, mulching, pruning, planting, etc.

Qualifications:

  •   Is able to work outdoors April – November

  •   Understands the impact of the daily detail work on the overall success of the business

  •   Can work independently and as a team member

  •   Has knowledge of and/or interest in organic gardening/landscaping/farming

  •   Has a positive attitude and good sense of humor

  •   Has good communication skills

  •   Ability to follow verbal & written instructions

  •   Has experience doing strenuous physical labor. Strong and in good physical condition.

    Able to lift and carry 50 lbs up and down stairs

  •   Can and will enthusiastically work a long day in (sometimes extreme) outdoor conditions

  •   Driver’s License

  •   Flexible schedule with occasional evening and weekend availability

  •   Ability to perform a wide array of tasks

    Performance Expectations:

  •   Perform gardening tasks efficiently

  •   Fill out time-sheets throughout the day accurately and completely; turn in timesheets daily

  •   Work safely following safety guideline in Landscape Crew Team Manual

  •   Arrive prepared for work with water, lunch, and with appropriate work clothes; takes care

    of personal needs so that they do not affect work performance

  •   Maintain positive relationships with all team members

  •   Maintain open lines of communication with supervisors

  •   Work collaboratively as a team to get jobs done

  •   Immediately report broken/missing tools and equipment

  •   Keep track of tools on job sites; make sure all tools are put away in designated location

  •   Ensure that all vehicles are kept clean

  •   Ability to shift gears as jobs & weather necessitates

  •   Have a positive outlook

  •   Occasionally you may be asked to work on our farm

  •   Attend and actively participate in team huddles

  •   Commit to stay with Nature and Nurture through date worked out in advance of taking the job

  •   Conduct all work in accordance with Nature and Nurture Guiding Principles & Landscape Crew Team Manual

  •   Reports to job supervisor & company owners

    Compensation:
    Our Starting wage is $10-$11/hour commensurate with relevant experience.
    Wage increases based on performance and dedication may be offered on a case by case basis.
