Horticulture Student Internship

Experience To Be Gained:
Maintenance and upkeep of perennial and annual garden beds
Opportunity to design and implement a new garden bed on the property
Managing staff of 3-4 gardeners for planting of $8K annual flower order
Experience in propagation of plant material with use of the on-site greenhouse
Tree planting and aftercare
Walnut Creek Country Club is home to a wide variety of perennial and annual plant material arranged throughout its 220 acre property. There are more than 20 beds, all of which contain exciting and interesting plants that bloom at different times of the year.
The student intern will be responsible for working with a small team to maintain the beds including pruning the plant material, removing weeds, mulching, fertilizing, watering, and planting new materials. With approval, the student intern would also have the opportunity to re-design an existing garden bed for the property which is an outstanding portfolio builder.
Student intern should be self driven and creative as he/she will be involved in the creation and alteration of existing gardens. With approval, the student intern will be able to design and im- prove the property with his/her creative ideas for gardening.
April - August
Monday through Friday 5:30am- 12:30am and every other weekend from 5:30am-10:30am.
