Horticulture Internship

About Us/Job Description

Come join us and be a part of our team with the continued creation of this newer botanical garden. The garden consists of approximately four acres, half of which is planted and includes a collection of Michigan native species as well as some popular garden perennial and woody plants. You will assist the Curator with day to day responsibilities included to (but not limited to) the following:

  •  General garden maintenance (planting, watering, weeding, pruning etc.)
  •  General greenhouse duties
  •  General Record Keeping (accessioning and signage)
  •  Community Outreach
  •  Supervision of Garden Team Members and/or FBG Volunteers
  •  Educational Events and Activities
  •  Seed collection from Michigan native species

Hours

Your typical schedule would consist of approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday with an occasional weekend during May through August.

Compensation and Housing to be determined prior to acceptance.
