Estate Gardener / Landscape Maintenance
Location: Residential Property in Bloomfield Hills, MI
Job Type: Full to Part Time, with flexible hours, year round.
Job Description:
A self-starter who is confident to work solo and enthusiastic about gardening will be responsible for maintaining extensive flower gardens, vegetable garden and numerous container plantings on 3 acre residential site. Reliability and being on-time is necessary, hours may be flexible. This is great opportunity for someone looking for long term employment. There is training and supervision.
Education Requrements:
A 2 year certification or 2 - 4 year degree in Landscape Horticulture or similar. Or, Master Gardener certification with professional work experience in landscape maintenance and gardening. Having knowledge of organic growing methods helpful, and knowledge of automatic sprinkler controller, adjustment and repair helpful, but not necessary. 
Physical Requirements: include ability to lift 40 pounds, able to push, pull, and walk distances, dig, plant, spread, shovel, and sweep. Also, to have the ability to use small landscape power equipment. The applicant will have the endurance to work in outdoor environment through all types of weather. 
Skills and Experience Requrirements: include identification of landscape plants and insect pests; Watering, pruning, trimming, transplanting, dividing, and growing perennial and annual flowering plants; Growing and harvesting vegetables and Raspberry’s. Weeding garden beds by hand and with hand tools. Cleanup of trash and debris. Care and cleaning of outdoor furnishings and objects. Cleanup of paved walkways, patios, and driveway. Monitoring overall grounds and be able to communicate effectively with the home owners and landscape contractors. The applicant should be passionate about working outdoors in a unique and professionally designed landscape environment.
