2018 Internship Announcement
Carlton Plants is a wholesale grower specializing in bareroot trees (shade, ornamental and fruit), ornamental shrubs, rootstocks and tissue culture. We are pleased to announce our Internship Program for Spring & Summer 2018. The program is designed to provide professional education and hands on experience to college students. This is paid on the job training that includes exposure to all phases of bareroot production - from the tissue culture lab and greenhouse to the field and eventually to the customer.
Northwest Oregon is a wonderful place to spend a few months and provides a unique opportunity to apply the knowledge gleaned from the classroom. Weekends may be used to enjoy the fabulous recreational activities throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Carlton Plants has been growing in the Willamette Valley of Oregon for over 125 years. The nursery consists of over 1,750 acres of bareroot fields, 8 acres of propagation facilities and a tissue culture lab. We are excited at the prospect of sharing our many years of experience and knowledge with domestic and international students alike. These internships will be most applicable to students in Horticulture, Botany, Plant Pathology, Crop and Soil Science, and Agriculture Education majors.
Deadline to apply for spring 2018 is November 15, 2017; for summer 2018 the deadline is December 15, 2017. For more information or an application, you may contact:
