TLC Hydroponics

Agricultural Workers (2) – Seasonal for Summer

Job overview:  TLC Hydroponics, a Tamarack Holdings business, is located in the hills of Leelanau County where it pairs an old-school work ethic with the new-school hydroponic technology.  This growing technique allows TLC to provide fresh and local produce from early summer through an extended fall season to retailers and wholesalers throughout Michigan.

TLC is currently looking for agricultural workers who are passionate about learning about hydroponics, commercial agriculture, water chemistry and multi-crop growing techniques.   Though a manual labor job working in the green house, this role will allow an individual to be involved in all facets of the hydroponic growing process.

Ideal candidates will have a love of the manual work needed to successfully grow.  Additionally, this job requires lifting over 50 pounds, overhead lifting, and bending/squatting for extended periods.  In this role, individuals will be exposed to bees, raw tomatoes and very hot peppers.  The role will also be handling a variety of pesticides, nutrient solvents and cleaners.  Due to the nature of the hydroponic green house, ideal candidate will be comfortable with hot and cold temperatures.  This role may require early hours and/or weekend work.

TLC is looking for two individuals to fill the job listed above.  This is a seasonal summer job but has the potential for the opportunity of continued work or intermittent work into the fall.   The Agricultural Worker role starts at $10.00 per hour.
