Coming from Brooklyn, New York -hometown of the hot dog eating contest, the Brooklyn Bridge and Jay Z- I am a lover of most foods.  I received my BS/BA from Kansas State University (go WILDCATS!) in Horticultural Therapy and Spanish.  My passions include traveling (Costa Rica, Japan, Taiwan, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras, Maine, South Carolina, North Carolina) , growing plants, being in nature, dancing, cooking/baking, and crocheting.  I am a proud co-owner of a Bombay and a Tortoiseshell cat named Oreo and Hattie.  I also love getting snail mail so feel free to leave me a message.

My research interest is in ornamental plant breeding.  Currently, I am working on QTL mapping and candidate gene identification for flowering traits at cold temperatures for petunia.
