Hours and Address 

The MSU Horticulture Gardens are open daily from sunrise to sundown.

Parking

Our Garden's parking lot is Lot #54 (view the MSU Interactive Map to see lot location next to the Plant and Soil Sciences building) and is a pay-by-plate lot (enforced M-F 6:00am to 10:00pm; free on weekends).   Visitors must pay immediately upon parking by walking to one of the pay stations, entering the license plate number of their vehicle, and then their payment.  The pay stations accept credit cards or US coin, $1, or $5 bills.  The pay stations do not give change back, nor are refunds issued for time paid for, but not used.

For Group Tours, call 517-355-5191 ext 1327 or email garden4h@msu.edu. Group tour prices are $5 per person with a 10 person minimum.

Accommodations

All of the formal portions of our gardens north of the railroad tracks are accessible.

Two family restrooms are located between the 4-H Children's Garden and the Schoolyard Demonstration Garden (open seasonally). Additional restrooms are located in the Plant and Soil Science Building. A blue line is taped on the floor of the head house (work area of the greenhouse located in the Plant and Soil Sciences building) that will lead visitors to the inside bathroom during university business hours. Another public restroom is also located at the east side of the Food Safety and Toxicology building (open seasonally).

Rules

We kindly ask visitors to follow these rules while visiting our Gardens:

  • No smoking
  • No skates or skateboards or similar devices
  • No bikes
  • No unleashed animals
  • No unauthorized events
