Invasive Plants 201
A workshop for the Thoughtful Gardener

March 29, 2008
8:00 – 3:30pm

Michigan State University Conference Center
811 West Square Lake Road
Troy, Michigan

Directions

Located off I-75, Exit #72; a half-mile north on Crooks Road

The richness of woody and herbaceous plants in our landscapes certainly contributes to quality of life and the overall aesthetic and environmental complexion of our homes, businesses, and communities.  We are becoming increasingly aware that some of these plants have escaped from our gardens and are causing a negative impact on surrounding natural areas.   As Thoughtful Gardeners, we can be part of the solution to the invasive plant problem by being informed.  Being informed heightens our awareness, minimizes the spread of unwanted plants and aids in preserving Michigan’s heritage of native forests, prairies and wetlands.

Join us for a day focused on gardens and enhancing our understanding of invasive characteristics and plant behavior, discussing environmentally responsible approaches to landscape design and management; and most importantly explore the diversity of plants for our gardens.  Invasive Plants 201 sets the stage for Thoughtful Gardening and Responsible Plant Use.
