Fall Garden Treasures

September 8th from 6-8 PM

Take a walk with Garden Director Dr. Art Cameron to view some of the amazing plants showing off in September in the MSU Horticulture Gardens. You'll be amazed at the diversity of plants that peak in the fall, including all the major groups of annuals, edibles, perennials, ornamental grasses and woody plants! Art will cover plant identification and showy combinations. He will discuss how to design beds specifically for fall interest based on color, texture and movement. Garden maintenance techniques that keep these displays in high gear will be demonstrated and questions from the attendees will be encouraged! Click Here to Register!

Did you have that one container that looked so good you want to save the plants for next year? Not sure how to store your summer blooming bulbs? We will discuss and demonstrate how to prepare and store tender bulbs such as elephant ears, dahlia, and canna as well as techniques for overwintering certain annuals. Discussion will also include preparing your garden for the winter, so bring your questions. Everyone will leave with a gem from the gardens. Festive Fall Arrangement

November 20th from 1-3 PM
$40 for Members $45 for Non-Members

This Thanksgiving arrangement will be the talk of you holiday gathering. Using pumpkins and gourds from the fall harvest you will create a beautiful floral display using warm fall flowers. Each participant will receive all the materials to make and take home an arrangement. Presented by Dixie Sandborn is the 4-H Horticulture Specialist at MSU and also has a Floral Studio in Portland called Sandborn Botanicals. (limit 25 participants). Click Here to Register!

Evergreen Holiday Wreath

December 9th from 3-5pm
$35 for Members $45 for Non-Members.

Create an inviting entrance to your home by attending our Evergreen Holiday Wreath workshop. After this workshop, you will be filled with the holiday spirit and have a festive wreath you can enjoy over the holidays. You will learn how to assemble a wreath made with evergreens, and will be provided ribbons and other accessories to adorn your wreath. Presented by Horticulture Garden Staff Daedre Craig and Jessica Wright.
