About the Meeting
The purpose of
this conference is to provide a forum for the exchange of
scientific research results concerning the production and
marketing of Christmas trees and greenery. Expected participants
will be researchers, students, extension agents and extension
specialists who work professionally with the Christmas tree
industry.
The conference
will be held October 2-7, 2005 at the
Kettunen Center,
Tustin, Michigan. The conference program will include
contributed talks, posters, extension discussion roundtable, and
field tours of nearby Christmas tree research and production.
Specific
topics will include (but are not limited to):
· Planting
stock propagation & production
· Plantation establishment and cultivation
· Fertilization and nutrition
· Genetics
· Pest management
· Economics and management issues
· Post-harvest quality
It is expected
that all attendees present a paper or a poster. The conference
language will be English.
