MSU Horticulture Recycle Drive! A one-time opportunity to recycle your old plastic flower pots, tree and shrub containers, plastic trays and labels.

Clean out that garden shed or garage and bring as many old flower pots and plastic trays, even plastic buckets that you can find!

SATURDAY, MAY 31, 2008
8:00am - 2:00 pm
Plant and Soil Science Building
Michigan State University Campus

Where: Michigan State University Campus: Parking Lot 46 - behind Plant Biology Building off Wilson Ave. Watch for the signs posting the location.

What can be recycled?

  • Tray flats, plastic buckets and tags.

  • Pots and containers with the following recycle numbers on the bottom:          #2 HDPE      # 5 PP        #6 PS

  • How to prepare:  Washing pots is not required, but make sure as much dirt as possible is knocked out of the container before you bring it to campus.  Make sure there are no stones or any other contaminants since these will all eventually be melted down by a local Michigan Company.

All containers and tags should be sorted before you bring them to campus:

  • Please sort by Recycle Number and size

  • Nest containers as tightly as possible
